The tax office will carry out checks in flower markets across the country

On March 8, the State Fiscal Service will carry out monitoring and verification actions for taxpayers who sell flowers in authorized markets and trade units throughout the Republic of Moldova. According to a press release, the action aims to prevent the illicit trade in flowers without documenting transactions through cash and control equipment.

The controls will focus on the undertaking of the compliance measures by monitoring the application by the traders of the cash and control equipment when performing the cash settlements, the registration of the entrepreneurial activity in a certain organizational-legal form.

The checks come in the context of the increase in demand for live flowers on the eve of International Women's Day, which leads to an increased risk of non-declaration of all sales, in order to reduce the amount of taxes and fees related to the public budget.

The national tax authority recommends all taxpayers to comply with legal provisions, and buyers - to request the receipt when purchasing flowers.
