"Moldovagaz" requests help from the state to be able to pay for the import of Russian gas

The "Moldovagaz" company requested the Russian concern Gazprom to postpone the advance payments for the months of August and September due to the inability to pay, the head of "Moldovagaz", Vadim Ceban, announced today. According to him, since the beginning of this year, the tariff deviations amounted to 954 million lei, and by the end of August, they could reach up to two billion lei, money that should be included in the invoices of final consumers, Radio Moldova reports.

Vadim Ceban also added that the last decision of the National Agency for Energy Regulation does not allow the Republic of Moldova to fulfil its contractual obligations, it negatively affects the financial activity and the efficient functionality of the enterprise, at the same time calling into question the uninterrupted supply of natural gas.

At the same time, "Moldovagaz" announced that 2,002 non-domestic consumers will be disconnected from the natural gas network, for gas debts of over 75 million lei.

According to the company, the supply of natural gas will be resumed after the full payment of the debt for natural gas and the reconnection tariff.

TRM.MD recalls that according to ANRE's latest decision, household consumers will pay in August 21 lei and 29 pennies for a cubic metre of natural gas, without VAT or 22,99 lei with VAT included.
