The Ukrainian president congratulated the winners of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, came with a message of congratulations and thanks after the country he leads won the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Radio Moldova reports.

He wrote in the Telegram that the courage of his people impresses the world, and the music of his country conquers Europe. He noted that next year Ukraine will host Eurovision for the third time in its history. And he thinks it's not the last time.

The Ukrainian president said that every effort would be made to one day host Ukraine's Eurovision participants and guests in Ukrainian Mariupol. "Free, quiet, rebuilt!" Zelenski said.

The public in 40 countries was the one who changed, on Saturday night, the hierarchy established after the vote of the specialised juries and tilted the balance significantly towards Ukraine.

The Republic of Moldova, in turn, represented by the band Zdob and Zdub and the Advahov brothers, obtained 7th place, while Romania, with the artist WRS, finished the competition in 18th position.
