The Russian army is intensely bombing the Sloviansk city of Donbas
The Russian aggression continues for 132 days. The hottest spots on the front are in the Donbas. After the tactical withdrawal of the Ukrainians from Lysiceansk, Russia is preparing the offensive on the city of Sloviansk. At the same time, explosions of arms depots in the territories occupied by Russia have become more frequent, Moldova 1 reports.
After withdrawing from a possible siege of Lysiceansk, Ukrainian troops strengthened their positions and continued fighting in the Donbas. Authorities anticipate the Russian offensive on the cities of Kramatorsk-Sloviansk-Bahmut, located west of Lysiceansk and north of Donetsk, and are preparing to evacuate civilians. Even though artillery fire is already being heard on the outskirts of the city and has caused the first casualties, people are in no hurry to leave and continue their lives.
"I don't go by bus often. When the sirens sound, they don't even move. Otherwise, everything is normal. There are many people in Sloviansk."
Most of those left in the city are the elderly.
"Water, we have it, or they shut it down. Damn it. Yesterday I had, I hurried to the window to water the flowers, and they immediately closed it. Today I checked, there is water".
Authorities recommend evacuating the population before fighting intensifies.
"Everything is simple. At first, they don't want to leave, and then they beg the people in charge of evacuation to get them out of town, and at least half of those in town now want to leave. There will be panic, there will be difficulties. That's why everything has to be done on time. I always say, we have to do this now," said the head of the Sloviansk Military Administration.
In recent days, more and more Russian army depots in the provinces of Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Mikhailov and Kherson have been blown up. Last night, Ukrainian forces dealt an exact blow to Russian weapons depots at the Snijneanskhimmaş plant in the Donetsk region.
The blasts were reported within a 50-kilometer radius of Cisteakove and Hertz. The attacks were very accurate and did not cause civilian casualties. According to military experts, the hand of special services can be seen here, because such precise shots are impossible without coordinates.
In his evening address to the Ukrainians, President Zelenski said that the situation on the front line has not changed.
"The enemy is terrorizing the border areas, the city of Kharkov and the Donbas region. Ukraine's armed forces are responding, putting pressure and destroying the offensive potential of the occupiers. We have to stop them. It's a difficult task, it takes time and superhuman effort. But we have no choice - the independence, the future and the hope of the entire people of Ukraine are at stake," said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
