Armed attack on a mall in Copenhagen. Several dead and wounded

Armed attack in the Danish capital. Danish police said several people were shot dead in a shopping center on Sunday night. Witnesses say they heard loud noises, while dozens of police officers arrived at the scene and blocked traffic in the area.

Police did not report a number of dead or injured. A first assessment was of at least three people who were hospitalized, one of whom was in critical condition, according to authorities.

"The attack resulted in the death of some people and the injury of others," the Copenhagen police chief told a news conference. He did not provide an exact balance of the victims.

"We don't know for sure how many are injured or dead, but it's very serious," Copenhagen Mayor Sophie Haestorp Andersen said in a Facebook post, according to Reuters.
