UN Security Council meets in emergency meeting after Kremenciuk attack

The UN Security Council will meet today in an emergency meeting on the latest Russian bombings against civilian targets in Ukraine, Agerpres reports. The main topic of this session will be the recent attack on Monday on a shopping centre in the city of Kremenciuk, according to an announcement made by the Albanian presidency of the UN Security Council, Radio Moldova reports.

At the same time, the Sunday morning rocket attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv will be discussed, as a result of which one person died and five others were injured, including a child.

TRM.MD recalls that in the Russian rocket attack that hit, yesterday, a shopping center in the Ukrainian city of Kremenciuc, at least 16 people were killed and 59 injured. Rescue teams continued overnight to search for survivors under the metal debris of the affected building and the fire caused by the projectile explosion. Ukrainian authorities believe the death toll could rise, and President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than a thousand people were in the mall at the time of the attack.

Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack on the Kremenciuk shopping center, calling it one of the most defiant acts of terrorism in European history.
