Pope Francis asks Vladimir Putin to stop the war
Pope Francis appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war in Ukraine, saying that the crisis there risks a nuclear escalation with uncontrollable global consequences, digi 24 reports.
The Pope says it is "absurd" that the world is facing a nuclear threat and calls for a ceasefire.
In a message dedicated to Ukraine, the Pope also appealed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to be open to any "serious peace proposal".
