UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is going to Ukraine

The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, will go to Ukraine today, where he will meet with the Ukrainian and Turkish presidents, Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in Lviv, to discuss in particular the export of grain from Ukrainian ports, the announcement was made on Tuesday by his spokesperson. According to her, Antonio Guterres will go to Odessa on Friday, reports Radio Moldova.

At the meeting, the implementation of the international agreement signed in July in Istanbul to allow grain exports from Ukraine will be "examined". In general, a series of issues will be raised, such as the need for a political solution to the conflict. At the same time, the issue of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant will also be discussed. After visiting the city of Odessa on Friday, Antonio Guterres will end his trip on Saturday in Istanbul to visit the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC), responsible for overseeing the grain export agreement.

The international agreement has already allowed the departure of 21 ships loaded mainly with corn and wheat from Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.
