Turkey offers free drones, and France sends armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine

Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu has announced that France will send significant quantities of armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine, according to AFP. At the same time, the Turkish company Baykar decided to donate three attack drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for free, for the purchase of which the charity foundation of the showman and volunteer Sergei Pritula raised money for three days, writes Unian.

"In order to move quickly in areas under enemy fire, the army needs armoured vehicles," the French minister said in an interview on the Parisien-Aujourd'hui website. Therefore, France will "deliver, in significant quantities, transport vehicles of this type, which are armed," he added.

Sebastien Lecornu also confirmed the sending to Ukraine of six additional Caesar guns, in addition to the 12 already sent.

However, the French official did not provide details on the date when these reinforcements will be sent, announced by the head of state Emmanuel Macron on June 16 during his visit to Kyiv.

On the other hand, the donation of the Turkish company Baykar is estimated at 15 million euros.

"The company knows that a fundraising campaign called 'People's Bayraktar' has successfully raised a sum to buy more Bayraktar TV2 UAVs for the Ukrainians to defend their homeland," reads the statement.

According to the Turkish company, it was known that businessmen and ordinary people contributed funds, large and small, to achieve this goal in a few days.

"We will not accept the money for TV2 and we will send three UAVs for free on the Ukrainian front. We demand, instead, that the funds raised be used to help the people of Ukraine fight. We are impressed by this solidarity and determination in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges," the company's leadership said.
