Maia Sandu requested an increase in the level of alert in the energy sector

President Maia Sandu requested all institutions to increase the level of alert regarding the identification and prompt remediation of incidents in the energy sector, so that citizens and the business environment feel safe. The request was made during the meeting of the Supreme Security Council, convened on Thursday, following last week's Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure in Ukraine.

The Council recommended the Government to update the plan to reduce technical vulnerabilities regarding the supply of electricity and thermal energy, to mobilise all electricity and thermal energy generation capacities.

The CSS also recommended the Executive to adapt the processes of organising the development and implementation of policies in the energy field and to ensure, in real time, communication with critical infrastructure operators from the public and private fields.
