Opposition MPs called for a hearing on the prime minister and the interior minister

The deputies of the parliamentary opposition proposed at the beginning of today's sitting of the Parliament the hearing of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ana Revenco and of the Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa. No proposal was supported by the parliamentary majority.

On Thursday, deputies from the "Şor" faction demanded that Ana Revenco be heard in connection with the alleged abuses of the police and other force structures against the parliamentary opposition and the citizens. This referred in particular to the protest on Sunday, June 19, when the Şor party organized a protest action in the Grand National Assembly Square (PMAN).

"People's freedom of expression is being violated. The employees of the Ministry of Interior apply double standards, which is unacceptable in a state governed by the rule of law ", said the deputy of the "Şor "party Marina Tauber.

For her part, BCS Party MP Diana Caraman called for "unprecedented mobilization of force workers" to accompany participants in the June 19 LGBT march.

"We are also asking for information on the basis of which a contingent of police officers came out, on a day off, within the Chisinau municipality, without the route being authorized," Caraman said.

In his turn, the President of the Parliament Igor Grosu sent a message of thanks to the employees of the Ministry of Interior, because they ensured the maintenance of public order.

"Please continue in the same way, to ensure public order and to ensure the security of the citizens. You did it brilliantly during the pandemic, in managing the flow of refugees. Please continue in the same way. Thank you for your dedication, "he said.

We remind you that on June 19, the Şor Party organized a protest action in PMAN against the government.
