The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will strengthen their cooperation in European integration
The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will strengthen their cooperation in the field of European integration. Presidents Maia Sandu and Volodymyr Zelenski agreed on this. The two heads of state had a telephone conversation around the EU summit in Brussels, during which decisions would be taken on granting Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia the status of candidate countries.
"I had a good telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky before the important EUCO meeting. We discussed the European Commission's recommendation to grant Moldova and Ukraine candidate status. We are committed to strengthening our cooperation on our integration into the EU, "Maia Sandu wrote on Twitter.
The President of Ukraine announced on Twitter that Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova have agreed "on mutual assistance" in the European integration process.
"I talked to Moldovan President Maia Sandu about tomorrow's EUCO meeting. We look forward to the EU's decision to grant candidate status to our states. We have agreed on mutual assistance on the road to the EU, "Volodymyr Zelensky wrote.
The European Commission and the European Parliament are in favor of granting the status of candidate countries for accession to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
