The European Parliament has voted in favor of the resolution calling for the granting of candidate status to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine

The future of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine is in Europe, said MEP Siegfried Muresan. According to the official, our country deserves the European perspective and the granting of candidate status.

"I just voted in the plenary of the European Parliament the resolution by which we ask for the granting of the state as a candidate state for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. The citizens of the two countries deserve a European perspective and deserve to be granted candidate status. Ukrainians have been fighting for European values for 4 months, for democracy, for a European future ", wrote a member of the European Parliament on his Facebook page.

At the same time, the MEP reported that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova received with open arms more than half a million Ukrainian refugees, offering them food, shelter and medical care. In this way, our country has proven to act in a European spirit.

"In the resolution voted today, we, the European Parliament, call on the European Council, at this week's meeting, to grant the status of candidate country to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova and to offer Georgia a European perspective," Siegfried Muresan said.
