UPDATE Rocket attack in the Odessa region: 21 people were killed in bombings

UPDATE: 17:05 Following the rocket attack in the town of Sergheevca, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district, Odessa region, 21 people lost their lives (16 people in the apartment building, five people in the resorts, including a child). Another 39 people were hospitalised with various injuries and traumas. The information was confirmed by the Exceptional Situations Service of Ukraine.


UPDATE 14:05 As a result of the bombings in the Odessa region, an employee of the Children's Rehabilitation Center in Sergheevka died, five others were injured, Health Minister Ala Nemerenco announced. The center's employees lived in the building affected by the bombings, the minister added. The sanatorium is owned by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that a rocket hit a nine-story building about 80 km south of the city. In this attack, 14 people died and 30 were injured, including three children.

Another Russian rocket hit the Serhiivka leisure base in the Odessa region. Here, three people died, including a child, and one person was injured.

Rescuers continue to search the ruins, the State Emergency Service said.

The rocket was fired from a plane over the Black Sea, according to Kiev.
