Three compatriots are under criminal investigation for organising illegal migration

Three Moldovan nationals are under criminal investigation for organising illegal migration. Two of them have the status of suspects, and the third - to be blamed. The group allegedly ensured the clandestine crossing of seven Ukrainian citizens, demanding from them sums of money, from $1,500 to $3,000, Radio Moldova reports.

According to a press release of the Border Police, during yesterday the law enforcement officers carried out several searches in the localities of Etulia, Comrat and Vulcăneşti, at the homes of the suspects. They are part of a specialised cross-border group, where several people are involved, including Ukrainian citizens.

The suspects allegedly organised in February-March the entry into the Republic of Moldova, by illegally crossing the state border, of Ukrainian men, aged between 20 and 30 years.

If found guilty, the suspects risk 3 to 5 years in prison.
