A truck loaded with 24 tons of corn was engulfed in flames as it was moving from Causeni to the port of Giurgiulesti. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), two fire crews intervened on the spot, which managed to extinguish the fire.
According to IGSU, no one was harmed, and the fire destroyed the cab of the car. The trailer loaded with corn was not affected. Also, IGSU employees cooled the fuel tank to prevent an explosion. The cause and circumstances of the fire are to be determined later.
In the last 24 hours, firefighters and rescuers have intervened in 67 risk situations.
