New travel conditions in Italy, valid from 1 May
The current travel conditions in Italy, valid until April 30, have been extended until May 31, 2022, except for the obligation to present the passenger location form on arrival in Italy, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
Therefore, from 1 May, the entry of the green certificate COVID-19 (certificate of vaccination, certificate of recovery or molecular test or negative antigen) or other vaccination certificate recognized as equivalent will be sufficient for entry into Italy.
Thus, for entry into the territory of the Italian Republic, persons are required to present to the carrier or any person designated to carry out checks, the EU digital certificate COVID-19 attesting one of the following situations:
- full-time vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 (for single- or two-dose vaccines) given less than 9 months ago, or
- complete vaccination and booster dose vaccination against SARS-CoV-2, or
- the cure of COVID-19 that happened 6 months ago, or
- performing a molecular test (PCR type) with a negative result, 72 hours before entering Italy or a rapid test (antigen type), with a negative result, 48 hours before.
In case of non-presentation of one of the above certifications, the quarantine measure is applied for a period of 5 days with the obligation to perform molecular or antigen tests at the end of the period.
Children under the age of 6 are exempted from performing the molecular or antigen test.
