Prosecutors request another 30 days of house arrest for Igor Dodon (VIDEO)

Anti-corruption prosecutors requested the extension of the arrest warrant for the former president of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, for another 30 days. The prosecutors' approach will be examined on Thursday, August 18 starting at 10:00 a.m. in the premises of the Chisinau Court, Ciocana headquarters.

The reasons that were the basis of the action by the anti-corruption prosecutors are determined by the continued existence of the risk of preventing the proper conduct of the criminal investigation, the risk of destroying evidence and influencing witnesses by causing some people to give false statements and the risk of evading criminal liability.

TRM.MD recalls that on the 24th of May, Igor Dodon was detained by the law enforcement officers. The former president of the Republic of Moldova is charged with four charges, as follows: passive corruption, organising, directing and knowingly accepting the financing of the political party by an organised criminal group, treason and illicit enrichment.
