Energizing alcoholic products will be banned by law

Energizing alcoholic beverages will be prohibited. A bill to this effect was voted on by Parliament in its first reading.

The law on the manufacture and circulation of ethyl alcohol and alcohol production with the notion of "energy alcoholic beverage" will be amended.

The draft approved at its meeting on Thursday, June 23, proposes a ban on the manufacture and circulation of alcoholic beverages for human consumption, the manufacture of which is used as a raw material for caffeine and / or other tonics.

According to the authors, a group of members of the Parliamentary Faction "Action and Solidarity Party", currently this category of products is not regulated in national law, and the proven negative impact of alcoholic beverages containing alcohol requires a ban on the manufacture and circulation of these products. "The product is, unfortunately, primarily aimed at young people and has a negative impact on their health. Also, the document will not affect the economic agents, or the Republic of Moldova is not a producing country, but an importing country ", mentioned one of the authors, Alexandr Trubca. The deputy made a statement that the implementation of the law will affect the revenues to the state budget, but insisted that the health of young people in our country has a much higher cost.

The draft was supported by 75 MPs and is to be voted in the second reading.
