Several parents in the capital are asking for kindergartens to return to their regular schedule. What the authorities say
Although kindergartens have officially returned to normal working hours, in reality parents are still forced to take their children until 5:30 p.m., when many of them are still at work. It still happens after in the capital, during the pandemic, the program of preschool institutions was reduced and a meal was excluded, Moldova 1 reports.
According to the Directorate-General for Education, Youth and Sport, an action plan is currently being worked out to set up a service group in each kindergarten. While some parents complain that they often fail to get to kindergarten on time, others say that the restricted regime gives them the opportunity to spend more time with their children.
"It would be good to be at least until 18:00, because we are not successful in traffic jams in the city, we come from another end of the city."
"I don't see the need, practically everyone works until 17:00, until 18:00 people succeed. In addition, we have to stay with the kids, not just the educators."
"The job is until 17:00 and somehow it doesn't work out, there are traffic jams in the city. You can't get from Botanica to Ciocana in half an hour, it's really impossible".
On the other hand, the administration of the institution says that there is a lack of teachers and that most of the educators work for two.
"Obviously, the parents have to take their children until 17:30, because according to the model menu, a meal was excluded. If before the children had five meals, at the moment there are four meals, the snack is last at 15:30-16:00 and notwithstanding the fact that from 16:00 to 19:00 the child is in kindergarten, it is under a risk that it is not fed properly," said the director of kindergarten number 32, Dina Pavaleanu.
The municipal authorities say that an action plan has been drawn up for the organisation of service groups in kindergartens.
"The Municipal Council will decide in the near future on the presence or establishment of groups with extended regime in early education institutions," said the head of the General Directorate of Education, Andrei Pavaloi.
The children would also be fed according to the menu for an extended 12-hour work schedule.
