Fighter Mariana Esanu became national champion

Sensational return for fighter Mariana Esanu-Cherdivără, who won the national title just 4 months after becoming a mother for the third time. The 30-year-old athlete ensured her participation in the World Championships, reports Moldova 1.

Mariana Esanu-Cherdivară achieved one of the most beautiful victories at the Republic of Moldova Wrestling Championships, which took place at the Sports Complex "Futsal Arena FMF", in Ciorescu commune. The 30-year-old athlete, who gave birth to a baby girl in March, fought perfectly in this competition, within the limits of the 62 kilogram category, and reached the final, where she defeated Nina Bodişteanu. "For me it's easy, but someone thinks it's hard. It's not hard if you want it hard, you can do anything. The return is also a surprise for me. I did not expect to recover so easily after a cesarean section. I didn't recover so easily even after the injuries from the fights. I thank God very much and my family and these angels. They make me stronger and happier," said the fighter.

In fact, at the national wrestling championships in Ciorescu, the favourites won on the line. Anastasia Nichita easily prevailed in the final of the 59 kilogram category against Gabriela Secrieru. Irina Rîngaci defeated Tatiana Deleu in the 68 kilogram category. Finally, Iulia Leorda also had Mihaela Samoil in the up to 53 kilogram category.

And it was the same in the "Greco-Roman" competitions. Alexandrin Guţu became champion within the 77 kilogram category. He defeated Mihai Petic in the final.

The great absentee from the national championships was the reigning world champion, the "Greco-Roman", Victor Ciobanu, who competes in the weight category of up to 60 kilograms. He got injured two days before the start of the competitions. "It's not serious. We're going to rehab on Monday. For me, this is important, to recover, because this championship is the road to the World Championships in Belgrade", said Victor Ciobanu.

Artiom Deleanu, Donior Islamov and Alexandru Solovei also won in the "Greek-Romanian" competitions.

In freestyle wrestling, Vasile Diaconu prevailed over Gheorghe Robu in the category of up to 74 kilograms, and Maxim Saculţan defeated Ion Marcu in the category of up to 57 kilograms.

"We achieved what we set out to do. It is a very good opportunity to select the members of the Republic of Moldova who will participate in the World Championships in Serbia in September", said the president of the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Moldova.

Over 300 athletes participated in the National Wrestling Championships of the Republic of Moldova this year.
