Moldova selects the representative at "Eurovision - 2020"

The representative of the Republic of Moldova at the European Song Contest "Eurovision - 2020" will be selected today, February 29. In the National Final, 19 interpreters will evolve. According to the organizers, it will be an exceptional show, spectacular and colorful. Among the competitors are notorious names, known in the country and abroad. The concert from the National Finals will be broadcast live by the public television station Moldova 1 and online on TRM.MD.

The concert starts at 20:00. Each participant has three minutes to interpret the song entered in the contest and to present the show.

“The winner will be selected by the jury and by televote in the proportion of 50% to 50%. The composition of the jury will be published immediately after the show begins. The teletext will start after the last song is played and will last 20 minutes. Subscribers to the mobile and fixed networks in the Republic of Moldova can participate in the televoting, who will have the right to make only one call. The subscribers of the networks from abroad will not be able to vote,” declared for TRM.MD Vitalie Cojocaru, the representative of the Organizing Committee.

Although, initially, 20 participants were expected to participate in the National Finals, 19 performers will perform on stage. Geta Burlacu announced a few days before the Final that she was withdrawing from the competition for personal reasons.

"We had too little time to include another competitor in the Final instead of Geta Burlacu. There were 19 participants in the National Finals. The competitors will evolve according to the number extracted,” said Vitalie Cojocaru.

The winner of the National Finals will represent the Republic of Moldova at the "Eurovision Song Contest - 2020", which will be held in May in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
