Priorities of the of the German EU Council presidency

Overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, environmental and climate policies, digital transformations, but also strengthening states for economic recovery are just some of the priorities that Germany will focus on during its term as President of the Council of the European Union. According to Ambassador Angela Ganninger, one of the goals is to develop protection mechanisms within the EU for seasonal workers, including those from the Republic of Moldova, to promote equity between women and men, but also to support the rule of law reforms, Mesager reports.

"We must make every effort to overcome this pandemic together and in a coordinated manner. This is true for all EU countries. We donated to the Republic of Moldova goods worth three million euros. For the economic recovery, it is important to consolidate our internal market and to this effect, we also consider the Republic of Moldova with which we have an Association Agreement and a Free Trade Agreement ", said Angela Ganninger.

Germany will hold the EU Council presidency until 31 December 2020.
