Doctors from the Archangel Michael hospital in the capital, offered state distinctions

Higher wages and working conditions adapted to European standards. These are the priorities of the authorities in the medical field. The head of state, Igor Dodon, today visited the Municipal Clinical Hospital "Sf. Archangel Michael" which turned 190 since its founding. On this occasion, the head of state has offered state distinctions and diplomas to doctors who over the years have been noted for their long and prodigious work, reports Moldova 1.

"An entire group received the same distinction, this is an appreciation and an honor. The group has 600 different people, who do beautiful things and is appreciated by society. An individual personality is easier, an entire group is quite serious. Patients today are very responsible, they have ever increasing demands and the medical workers have to meet those demands,” said the director of the hospital of St. Michael Archangel, Mihai Ciobanu.

The authorities intend to increase the salaries of doctors, but also to supply the medical institutions in the country with high-performance equipment, according to international standards.

"This is about 10 percent increase in salaries of medical staff, whether it is about the doctors, nurses and lower staff in the respective institutions. The money has alreary been planned, the draft decision will be approved next week,” stated the Minister of Health and Labor, Viorica Dumbrăveanu.

"In the medical system, there are 1,500 vacancies at this stage. What does this mean? We don't have people. There are good specialists, but they all leave. What we need to do: 1. Review the motivation, the salaries; 2. We must review the equipment. Here we have an example of the highest standard equipment, international standards. If we do not review these two elements, we risk losing everything that is best in the medical system,” mentioned the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon.

According to historical data and archival documentation, the Hospital was established in 1829, next to the Church "Holy Archangels Michael and Gavriil".
