Victor Socaciu dies
The singer-songwriter and performer of folk music, Victor Socaciu, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, Victor Socaciu, at the age of 68. This was announced by Marina Almăşan, the artist's ex-wife, writes Agerpres.
Newspapers from Romania previously reported that the artist had COVID-19 in April, when he was hospitalized. The folk singer had several health problems, and in 2009 he underwent a kidney transplant.
Victor Socaciu, musician, composer, director and producer of TV shows, organizer of national and international festivals, one of the most appreciated folk artists, was born on January 14, 1953, in Brasov. He graduated from the Mathematics-Physics Lyceum no. 1 in Brasov, and in 1969 he took classical guitar lessons at the Art School in Brasov, in the class of Professor Teodor Martinescu. He is the author of over 300 vocal-instrumental songs.
