Gazprom to stop delivering natural gas to Moldova starting with May
From May 1, Gazprom could suspend the delivery of natural gas to the Republic of Moldova, in the context in which the audit at MoldovaGaz will not be possible to be carried out in the established terms.
It is one of the two scenarios forecasted and analyzed by the Government, according to the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spinu. The official said in a TV8 show that several actions are currently being taken that would help provide the country with the necessary stocks of natural gas.
"We remind you that according to the additional protocol of the contract signed with Gazprom in October 2021, the Moldovan side was to carry out an audit of Moldovagaz's historical debts by May 1, and based on it to establish the debt payment schedule. According to Andrei Spinu, international audit companies have been reluctant to intervene in the context of the war in Ukraine, "said Andrei Spinu.
