Almost 5,000 farmers will benefit from state subsidies
In 2022, the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) reached a new record of receiving applications for post-investment subsidies. Thus, AIPA received over 10.8 thousand requests for financial support for 4,917 unique agricultural producers.
According to AIPA, the value of subsidies is about 1.8 billion lei, or 32% more than the value of subsidies requested by agricultural producers in 2021.
In particular, farmers asked for compensation after investing in post-harvest and processing infrastructure, in the procurement of agricultural machinery and equipment, lending to agricultural producers in the establishment/modernization of multi-year plantations and animal husbandry.
Most requests for financial support were submitted by agricultural producers from Briceni, followed by those from Orhei and Cahul.
It should be mentioned that for the year 2022 the value of the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and the Rural Environment is 1.75 billion lei. Financial resources are distributed for the allocation of post-investment subsidies, advance subsidies, direct payments per head of animal and diesel compensation. 1.368 billion lei have been capitalised so far.
