Goods worth 20 million lei, seized

Assets worth about 20 million lei were seized by the CNA's Criminal Property Recovery Agency (ARBI). These are goods of illicit origin that were made unavailable last week, in a criminal case, managed by prosecutors.

Thus, in the parallel financial investigations, ARBI applied seizures on 33 assets, including share capital, residential and non-residential rooms, residential and non-residential buildings, construction and agricultural land. The total amount of unavailable goods is 19,361,104 lei. Also, during the last week, ARBI finalized 5 delegations on 4 criminal cases regarding 5 subjects; developed 11 analytical notes targeting 36 people; drafted 8 advisory opinions on the valuation of 5 movable and 4 immovable assets.

TRM.MD recalls that, in the first months of the current year, the Agency for the Recovery of Criminal Assets applied seizures on illegally acquired goods in the amount of over 90 million lei, and in 2020, their figure was estimated at approximately 1.5 billion lei.
