Ciucă: Romania can give the Republic of Moldova a maximum of five million cubic meters of gas per day
Romania can give the Republic of Moldova a maximum of five million cubic meters of gas per day, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă said on Monday upon the request of the Moldovan state for natural gas from Romania, reports Agerpres.
"When I talked with Prime Minister Gavriliţa, they need 150 million cubic meters. (...) We still need to see what quantities we can secure in the next period, because, as the situation in warehouses shows today, we have stored more than 86%, approximately 87%, which means that, if we manage to have signed contracts for the winter period, in order to maintain the balance in the system and to have the necessary quantities in the days of low temperatures, we can ensure the respective quantity", said Ciucă.
Asked if the Republic of Moldova will have a problem with gas in the winter, the Romanian Prime Minister answered: "If now that we are discussing, if now the supply of gas by Gazprom is stopped, they really have a problem, and we can ensure to the Republic of Moldova that quantity on the Ungheni - Ungheni pipeline and it covers, but not what it needs, 5 million cubic meters we can give per day, but no more".
We remind you that on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu announced that "Energocom" obtained the license from ANRE Romania and can buy/sell natural gas on the Romanian market.
At the same time, the company was registered on the Regional Booking Platform and can access gas storage depots in Ukraine.
Last week, the "Moldovagaz" company received from "Gazprom" the partial confirmation of the gas volumes for the month of October. Thus, out of the 8.06 million cubic meters per day, which includes the consumption for the transnistrian region, 5.7 million cubic meters per day were confirmed, deliveries being limited by more than 30 percent.
