The electricity supply contract from Romania to the Republic of Moldova was signed

The contract for the supply of electricity from Romania to the Republic of Moldova was signed today between the Romanian company Hidroelectrica and Energocom. As a result, the supply of electricity to our country will begin at night, announced the Romanian Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu.

The official said that the emergency ordinance that was adopted on Wednesday allows that "in exceptional situations caused by the effects of the war in Ukraine, electricity producers are obliged to conclude bilateral contracts, within the limits of available quantities, primarily with designated electricity traders/suppliers by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

"The electricity sold under these conditions exclusively covers the consumption needs of final consumers in the Republic of Moldova. We were, we are and we will be with the citizens of the Republic of Moldova", mentioned Virgil Popescu.

We remind you that the Republic of Moldova will buy 30% of electricity from Romania at a price of 450 RON/MWh (approximately 90 EUR/MWh). The electricity will provide the necessary that we can no longer receive from Ukraine, after it stopped the export to the EU, but also to our country.
