Queues at the counters to pay housing taxes
Moldovans who pay full taxes on real estate until June 30 benefit from a 15% reduction in the value of the tax. In this context, several residents of the capital lined up at the Local Tax Collection Directorate to honor their tax liability. In the first days of June alone, the revenues amounted to ten million lei, reports Moldova 1.
Those responsible for collecting local taxes and fees say that there are no longer two payment deadlines, and those who will not comply risk penalties.
"The reduction is granted upon payment of the full amount until June 30 of this year. If previously the deadlines for paying taxes were two, starting with 2020, we have only one payment deadline - September 25," said Cristina Vizitiu, head of the Tax Collection Department.
Until June 28, the work schedule of the Directorate for the Collection of Local Taxes and Fees was extended by one hour, until 18:00, in order to be able to respond to all requests. Under tax law, retirees are exempt from taxes.
