NBS data: Residents of the Republic of Moldova have reduced their consumption of natural gas in the last year

Residents of the Republic of Moldova have considerably reduced their consumption of natural gas during the last year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Starting from April 2022, consumers recorded the lowest level of consumption in the last five years, and the highest consumption of natural gas was recorded, on average, in January, followed by December, then February, reports Radio Moldova .

Also in the months of November and March, a high consumption of natural gas was recorded, a factor being also the temperature fluctuations of the  year.

In this context, the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau mentions that the EU remains a faithful partner of the Republic of Moldova, including in the energy field.

In August 2022, the European community granted the Republic of Moldova a budget support grant worth 75 million euros to deal with the energy crisis.
