On the rental market in Chisinau, prices have exploded

After the wave of price increases in food products and services, the price of rents in Chisinau also increased. Real estate agents say that the rent for one-room apartments increased the most, increasing by up to 40 percent. If half a year ago, such a house, in a new building, could be rented for approximately 250 euros per month, now tenants have to pay 100 euros more, reports Moldova 1.

The rates differ depending on the area and the facilities of the building, and among the main causes of the rent increase would be the return of students to the city, say real estate agents.

"On average, prices have increased by 30-40 percent, if we are talking about apartments with one room, and 20-25% if we are talking about apartments with larger areas. Of course, the most requested are apartments with small areas, one-room apartments. We have three factors that influenced the increase of these rental rates. The first seasonal factor, before school increases this price. The second factor, the large flow of refugees from Ukraine and the third factor is the increase in apartment prices", says the sales director of a real estate agency, Eugen Ţurcanu.

According to the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives "Viitorul", currently, 13% of the inhabitants of Chisinau municipality live with rent.
