Bogdan Aurescu: Ensuring the Republic of Moldova with natural gas, electricity, fuel oil and firewood, some of Romania's actions

Providing the Republic of Moldova with natural gas, electricity, fuel oil and firewood are just a part of Romania's recent actions. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs from Bucharest, Bogdan Aurescu, in an interview with digi24, quoted by Radio Moldova.

He claims that the energy security of the Republic of Moldova will be the main topic that will be discussed in Paris on November 21.

"The government approved 130 thousand cubic meters of firewood at the request of the Republic of Moldova, we continue with the call from the international community to offer grants to the Republic of Moldova so that it can buy energy on the free market. On November 21, in Paris, there will be a new meeting of the support platform for the Republic of Moldova, there were already two meetings, in April, in Berlin and a second one in Bucharest, on July 15. On July 15, we managed to collect 615 million euros, of which 432 million euros were grants, and in Paris we will focus on the energy needs of the Republic of Moldova", said Bogdan Aurescu.

Currently, the Republic of Moldova has contracted 53.5 million cubic meters of gas. Part of it is in the country's transport system and another part is in Romania's transport system.

The Prime Minister from Bucharest, Nicolae Ciucă, announced that, in case of emergency, Romania will deliver 5 million cubic meters of gas per day to the Republic of Moldova. Andrei Spînu declared that the Chisinau authorities want to sign a long-term contract with Bucharest for the delivery of natural gas.
