No Russian observers at the Ukrainian presidential election

Without Russian observers in the Ukrainian presidential election. The head of the diplomacy in Kiev, Pavlo Klimkin, announced that he would not register observers from Russia by notifying the OSCE Office.

Klimkin said the decision reflects Ukraine's position on Russia, which it regards as an aggressor. In response, Moscow Central Election Commission's secretary Maia Grişina said that Russian observers would monitor the Ukrainian presidential election anyway within the OSCE / ODIHR Mission.

Presidential elections in Ukraine will take place on March 31, 2019. There are 20 candidates, including former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

President Petro Poroshenko has not officially announced his launch in the election campaign.
