Floods in Romania: Blocked trains and water-covered streets
In Romania, it has been raining for several days in a row, and floods are affecting the whole country. There are blocked trains, flooded houses, flooded streets. A woman was taken by the flood in Vaslui and cannot be found, writes digi24.ro.
From Monday evening until Wednesday at noon, a hydrological red flood warning is in force.
Five trains are blocked in Alba County, and for passengers, CFR provides transhipment by car between Teiuş-Aiud and Aiud, due to the high water level that covered the railway lines and five switches. However, the area is under red flood warning.
Several national roads in counties in Transylvania and Moldova are blocked on Tuesday due to floods, according to the Infotrafic Center.
Two trains are blocked and a family with a nine-month-old baby has been evacuated due to the floods in Aiud.
Firefighters in Vaslui are on alert and are looking for a 75-year-old woman who was hit by a flood on Monday night. The rescuers resumed the search on Tuesday, the victim being missing.
Dozens of houses in Praid and Ocna de Jos, Harghita County, were flooded Monday night to Tuesday due to the rains of the last hours.
Last night, in Botosani County, a car was hit by a flood. There were four people in the vehicle, who were rescued by firefighters. The overflowing waters completely covered the road, and the traffic was blocked near Rediu.
Water Covered streets were also in Oraviţa, in Caraş-Severin County. Several cars were moved by torrents after a torrential rain. The city was under red warning. The same situation in Săcele, in Braşov County.
