Odessa residents strengthen their defences: "We will win"

In Odessa, people gathered on the beach and filled sacks with sand to strengthen defensive positions in the event of an assault by Russian troops. Odessa residents also take care of monuments, the famous pedestrian street Derisbasivka, the symbol of Odessa, is covered with sacks. Even though they are regularly bombed, people say they do not give up, Moldova 1 reports.

People feel that the war is approaching Odessa. Back in February, the city was prepared for a possible launch of the Russian landing, which did not happen. Now, the locals have returned to the beach and are preparing for a new potential assault.

 "We are strengthening our country, helping to bring about victory. We will win”;

 "There are a lot of sandbags all over the city. On Deribasovskaya Street, the symbol of the city, everything is covered with sacks”;

"In the first days of the war, I was very scared, as I had never been in my life. I didn't think I could be so scared. Now, here, everything is fine," people say.

Russian forces have intensified bombing raids on the city and region of Odessa. On Easter Saturday, the Russians fired rockets and killed civilians, killing six people, including one baby, and injuring 18 others.

Meanwhile, traffic on the Zatoka Bridge has resumed. Tonight, at 23:30, from Odessa, the train will head to Ismail, which will cross the bridge over the Dniester River, announces the mayor of the city, Andrei Abramcenko.

Thus, the "Southern Palm" train returns to its usual schedule and will return to Odessa Railway Station tomorrow morning. The bridge was hit by Russian missiles following two attempts.

The Ukrainian security service reported an increase in the flight of Russian drones in the region in order to correct the coordinates of its airstrikes.
