The price of gas could reach 5,000 euros per thousand cubic metres

By the end of this year, the price of gas will reach 5,000 euros per thousand cubic metres of gas. An estimate in this sense was made by the vice-president of the Security Council of Russia and former president of the country, Dmitri Medvedev, on a social network, reports Radio Moldova.

Currently, the price is 3,500 euros. Western countries believe that the increase in the price of natural gas is linked to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine and is classified as blackmail from the Kremlin.

Meanwhile, in Brussels, work is being done on the hypothesis of capping gas prices and an extraordinary meeting of energy ministers is being prepared.

In August, the Republic of Moldova paid $1,458 for a thousand cubic metres of natural gas, which is $478 more than in July, when the gas was bought for $980 for a thousand cubic metres.

The head of "Moldova-Gaz", Vadim Ceban, previously announced that for the month of September, the Republic of Moldova will pay the Russian concern "Gazprom" more than 1,692 dollars for a thousand cubic metres.
