New travel rules in some European countries due to the increase in COVID-19 cases
Officials from Spain, Italy, France and Portugal have introduced restrictions or drawn up a set of recommendations in the context of increasing COVID cases, extremely high temperatures and vegetation fires, according to digi24.ro.
In Italy, the FFP2 mask is mandatory if you enter the country by ferry, train or bus. However, it is not necessary for flights to or from Italy. You also do not need to provide proof of vaccination, a negative COVID test and any certificate of recovery from the disease.
These documents are not required in mainland Portugal, Madeira and Porto Santo either. Instead, for the Azores it is mandatory for tourists to be completely vaccinated if they want to cross its threshold. Moreover, new restrictions are being introduced in Portugal due to the recent high temperatures of over 40 degrees. Walking through forests and rural roads, burning agricultural waste, clearing land by burning or using fireworks are prohibited.
In France, on the other hand, according to the MFA, you have to present the vaccination or cure certificate, and if you are not completely vaccinated, you need a negative COVID test. If the second dose was given more than nine months ago, dose 3 is also required.
In another destination preferred by Romanians, Spain, the authorities have introduced restrictions due to the growing fires of vegetation. Thus, grills are banned in many areas of Spain or you need a police permit for them.
In Greece you do not need to provide proof of vaccination, a negative COVID test or a certificate of recovery from the disease. Also, tourists who want to spend their holidays in the Greek state do not need a location form.
