BPO: Politicians enjoying the most trust from citizens

If the presidential elections were held next Sunday, candidates from PSRM and PAS would compete in the second round. At least this shows the survey of the Barometer of Public Opinion (BPO) conducted by the company iData, at the request of the Institute for Public Policies, reports Moldova 1.

According to the survey, for the PSRM’s candidate for the elections of the head of state would vote almost 24 percent of the citizens, while for the PAS’s nominee - nearly 18 percent. The candidate from the Democrats would gain about six percent, while the PPDA’s nominee - three percent.

If early parliamentary elections were to take place next Sunday, PSRM, PAS and PDM would get into the Parliament. For the PSRM, 27.6% of the interviewees are ready to vote, for the Party of Action and Solidarity - 17.5%, while for the Democratic Party - 7.4%.

In terms of trust in politicians, President Igor Dodon is quoted by 37.86 percent, followed by the former prime minister, Maia Sandu, who enjoys the trust of 30 percent of Moldovans. The list continues with the mayor of Chişinău, Ion Ceban and the Speaker of the Parliament, Zinaida Greceanâi, who enjoys the sympathy of 26 percent of the respondents. Former communist president of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin returned to the top of the politicians with a 20-percent rating.

The survey was conducted on December 7-23, 2019, on a sample of 1,187 people, with a margin of error of ±2.84%.
