What do Maia Sandu and Igor Grosu think about the visit to Moscow of a group of opposition deputies
Deputies from the pro-Russian parties PCRM and ŞOR who went to Moscow to ask for special commercial relations with the Orhei district, tried to convince the Russian decision-makers that they can destabilize the Republic of Moldova. This is the assessment given by the leadership of the Republic of Moldova. President Maia Sandu clearly said that it is about political games, and the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, declared for Radio Moldova that it is a simple servitude.
"Obviously they are aware of the fact that they have no way, no chance to negotiate one or the other. It is the servile behavior, unfortunately, of some politicians from the Republic of Moldova. These people are against the interests of the Republic of Moldova, because they do not want stability here, because they do not condemn the war and the atrocities that are happening in Ukraine", declared Igor Grosu.
President Maia Sandu said for a private television station that the gas price was just a cover for the three deputies who went to Moscow.
"Representatives of the respective party went there to sell the idea that they can destabilize the Republic of Moldova. Of course, these are political games. If it had been possible to buy cheaper gas from Gazprom, we would have bought it a long time ago," said Maia Sandu.
Constantin Starîş from the communists, Reghina Apostolova and Petru Jardan from the Şor Party were received at the end of last week by the Russian deputy Leonid Slutki.
Slutski is the chairman of the international relations committee of the State Duma, and Vladimir Zhirinovsky's successor at the head of the liberal-democratic party who supports the Russian aggression on Ukraine, even before the visit of the three Moldovan deputies to Moscow, he said that the transnistrian region belongs to Russia.
Starîş, Apostolova and Jardan motivated their move by requesting a favorable gas price for the Orhei district and export contracts for agricultural products.
