"Washington Post" investigation: the Russian FSB actively supports the politician Ilan Şor
The Washington Post comes with an investigation in which the leader of the "Şor" Party is targeted. According to some secret documents with which the American publication operates, the Russian FSB actively supports the politician Ilan Şor, in order to overthrow the government in Chisinau and return the country to the Kremlin's sphere of influence, reports Moldova 1.
The Washington Post also says that an important Russian politician praised Ilan Şor, calling him a "reliable long-term partner" and even offered a cheap gas contract to the region of the Republic of Moldova led by Şor's party.
The publication also mentions that the FSB spent tens of millions of dollars to cultivate a network of Moldovan politicians and to reorient the country towards Moscow.
On Wednesday, the USA announced sanctions against two Moldovan oligarchs - Vladimir Plahotniuc and Ilan Şor - suspected of undermining the rule of law in the Republic of Moldova and promoting the interests of the Russian Federation.
