Maia Sandu: We have a parliamentary majority that assumes tasks and actions that are very necessary for the country

The results of these elections mean a new page in the history of the Republic of Moldova. This is the opinion of the president Maia Sandu, who declared during the show "Moldova Live" on the public television station that after 30 years of transition in our country there will be a parliamentary majority that will be concerned with improving the lives of citizens.

"We have come to have a parliamentary majority that assumes tasks and actions very necessary for the country, namely cleaning the state institutions of corrupt elements, strengthening the capacity of state institutions, so that the state protects citizens, ensures their normal working conditions, ensures them normal living conditions," mentioned Maia Sandu.

According to the head of state, the justice reform must start from the first working days of the next Parliament, and the restoration of external financing, creating the conditions for opening as many jobs as possible must be among the Government's priorities.

"The first thing the government needs to do is restore external funding and make sure it has enough resources in its budget to ensure pensions and salaries. A commitment that PAS made in the campaign is to bring the level of the minimum pension to two thousand lei and that is why it must find these resources very quickly in order to be able to implement it until October 1, as promised," considers Maia Sandu.

During the same show, the president expressed her confidence that the presidency together with the Parliament will succeed in fulfilling the commitments made in the election campaign.

According to the preliminary results, following the July 11 election, only three political parties enter the new Parliament: PAS, which will represent the parliamentary majority after obtaining 52.8% of the votes; BECS with 27.17% and the "Şor" Party with 5.74% of the votes are in opposition.

It should be noted that the Central Electoral Commission will meet on Monday, July 19 in session to make the totals, to approve the reports and the decision, which to send to the Constitutional Court (CCM) to validate or invalidate the early parliamentary elections of July 11.
