Marina Tauber: After the vote to lift parliamentary immunity, I will be detained
"Şor" party deputy Marina Tauber states that she will be detained today, after the Parliament will vote for the lifting of her parliamentary immunity. The statement was made at a press conference before the Legal Affairs, Appointments and Immunities Commission examined the prosecutor general's requests.
"I am sure and I know this information that today, after the Legal Commission and after the vote in the Parliament, the lifting of my immunity will be retained. I have known and held this information since last week. I'm sitting here in front of the whole country because I'm not guilty. I know that our supporters will come out to support us," said Marina Tauber.
TRM.MD recalls that during today's plenary session, the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, presented two requests received from the interim General Prosecutor, requesting the approval of the lifting of the parliamentary immunity of Marina Tauber, in order to detain, arrest, search and prosecute.
The deputy is targeted in two criminal cases based on the fact of knowingly accepting the financing of the "Şor" Political Party from an organised criminal group, as well as for falsifying the report on the party's financial management for the first semester of 2022, with the intention of hiding the volume of financial resources accumulated and the volume of funds used.
