The new head of the OSCE Mission in Chisinau starts her activity

Ambassador Kelly Keiderling, appointed as head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, took over her mandate on Monday. She will also be an OSCE mediator in the Transnistrian settlement process, reports Radio Moldova.

The ambassador mentioned that she expects to cooperate with the authorities from Chisinau and Tiraspol, as well as with the other participants in the "5+2" format, in order to continue and to develop the negotiations for the reintegration of  the transnistrian region into the Republic of Moldova. The mandate of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova is approved and renewed every year by all 57 states participating in the OSCE, including the Republic of Moldova.

We remind you that the OSCE has the role of negotiator in the 5+2 format to identify a peaceful solution for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, which has not met for about 3 years, initially because of the pandemic, then the war in Ukraine.
