European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen pays a working visit to Chisinau
Head of State Maia Sandu will meet on Friday, November 10, with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who will pay a working visit to our country. After the meeting, the officials will hold a joint press conference, according to the presidential institution.
As stated by the press service of the European Commission, the purpose of the visit is to strengthen support for the Republic of Moldova, the country most affected by the consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine.
Previously, the head of the European Executive stated in a message on Twitter that the European Union is looking for solutions to provide additional support to the Republic of Moldova to mitigate the energy crisis our country is facing.
TRM.MD recalls that for the first time, our country was visited by a president of the European Commission 10 years ago, in 2012. At that time, this position was held by Jose Manuel Barosso.
