Alexei Revenco, in memory of colleagues from Radio Moldova
The sad news about the eternal departure of the newscaster Alexei Revenco shook those close, colleagues, friends. Dozens of generations raised with Radio Moldova have remained in pain and for whom Alexei Revenco was a landmark, a model of mastery and decency.
January 11 brought the saddest news. The journalists from the Newsroom were to announce that Alexei Revenco is no more, that his emblematic voice will no longer resound from this studio and many aspirations and expectations to communicate with Master Revenco have crumbled.
Anatol Caciuc has valuable memories of the master Alexei Revenco. They met when Anatol was a student and participated in a show on National Television, moderated by Alexei Revenco. Over the years, they became colleagues and shared the same office for a decade.
"Ten years, in which we talked every day about everything that means a man's life, with joy and sadness. In this office, colleagues gathered to listen to his jokes, but also his life stories. We often remembered our first date. It was 1982, on April 11, when he was the presenter of the children's show "The World in the Vision of Children" on the National Television, and I - a student who participated in the thematic show dedicated to the Cosmos. Then he, the uncle Alexei, was the captain of the spaceship with which I flew in Cosmos," remembers Anatol Caciuc.
Today, however, a question came to him: "I'm sitting in office 236 at Casa Radio and I'm wondering what it will be like without him, without Alexei REVENCO?".
Anatol Caciuc remembers the last meeting with Alexei Revenco, it had been before Christmas.
"Our last meeting, December 19. A fugitive, both with a mask, keeping twice the social distance. He briefly told me about his visit to Canada with his daughter Virginia. Lately, most of all, he's been talking to me about his nephew Theo. She was proud of him. He showed us pictures, videos and said that he would be an aviator and when he had his first flight he would take the good one. That's how our discussion ended. The last one ", remembers Anatol Caciuc.
Alexei Revenco was the personality who brought a lot of soul, a lot of love to the meetings that the Radio Moldova team used to organize with the radio listeners. They were winged in the most remote localities of the country, where people were waiting for them with their souls in their mouths and they felt a sense of dignity that they saw him, they met Alexei Revenco.
"Then we were smiling, then we were so happy and honored that they accompanied us to the meeting with the listeners Maricica Munteanu and Alexei REVENCO, two unmistakable voices from Radio Moldova. As of today, Alexei joins the Cohort of Angels and becomes a legend forever. Have you stayed with us, dear brother. Smooth way, Good Man, we will always miss you," wrote the journalist Zina Izbaş on her Facebook page.
"I will always remember you dearly, Alexei! You were the Man from whom I learned a lot on the radio ... A wonderful man, distinguished and discreet, with a clear eye and an open soul. A noble character, commensurate with the real artists," wrote on his Facebook page Vasile Mija, the head of the Debate Editorial Office on Radio Moldova.
Cristina Popescu works on the production and editing of news bulletins on Radio Moldova. His work became really valuable when Alexei Revenco was on duty. A noble, sober voice that inspired confidence and warmth. And she, Cristina, like many others, had grown up with Alexei Revenco's voice as a child.
"Alexei Revenco was like a father who guided me in my profession. Whenever he entered the Radio News Editorial Office, he did not come empty-handed, he brought us candies, apples and other goodies for colleagues who worked at the news bulletins, and at the exit he told us jokes and left us with a smile on face," remembers Cristina Popescu.
Colleagues in the newsroom were waiting for him to return from the hospital, they could not imagine another turn. Cristina Popescu remembers that she was going to call him, but the sad news "came like lightning".
"She loved children “madly”. One day, he gave a car to my son, it was a toy left by his nephew. Since that day, my child has often asked me, how is Mr. Revenco? And my last answer was: "he feels a little bad, because of Coronavirus, but we'll call him when he gets better", but we couldn't talk anymore ... The sad news came like lightning all over the Radio News editorial team, we all cried. We can't accept this news! We will never forget him! Alexei Revenco is a MAN who made history for Radio Moldova, an exceptional colleague, a unique voice that we will miss …,” Cristina Popescu wrote on her Facebook page.
Alexei Revenco passed away on the morning of January 11, 2021. He was 63 years old and dedicated his life to the national radio station. He was part of the generation that promoted values: a beautiful, melodious and correct Romanian language.
"Radio Moldova is the turmoil of my beautiful youth," said Alexei Revenco.
In these difficult times, the management of the "Teleradio-Moldova" Company expresses its sincere condolences to the family. Alexei Revenco's departure is an irretrievable loss.
