Tables full of pies and boxes full of cherries. The Cherry and Cherry Pies Festival from Ruseştii Noi, Ialoveni district, gathered today agricultural producers, folk ensembles and a lot of visitors. The local housewives prepared various dishes of cherries, Mesager reports.
The stars of June - the cherries are in the place of honor at Ruseştii Noi. Cherries, cherry pies, cherry cakes - these are the dishes on the tables of the housewives in the village.
Traditionally, the housewives from Ruseştii Noi compete in the presentation of the most delicious dishes, cherries, and the cherry pies are very popular at the holiday. Visitors and residents say the festival has been long overdue after the pandemic canceled the holiday last year.
"That's how people got out of the pandemic stress. They went out, they have fun, they look at each other, they calm their nerves a little, very nice”;
"Very beautiful, this is the only way we can get people out of the house, because otherwise we only live in houses with masks";
"Interesting, beautiful. It was not organised last year and people were waiting for it".
The folk ensembles from the neighboring localities performed in the festival.
"Indeed, the ninth edition was the most awaited. Even if we filmed the eighth edition in the orchard, we still missed the presence of our dear ensembles from Ialoveni district. We lacked the producers, we lacked the folk craftsmen and of course the spectators ", says Diana Josu, head of the Culture Department, Ialoveni.
The Cherry and Cherry Pies Festival from Ruseştii Noi has reached its ninth edition.
