In Gagauzia, children in kindergartens also learn Romanian. What parents say

For a year already, in kindergartens in the Gagauz Autonomous Region, children have been studying in the Romanian and Gagauz languages. Educators say that through interactive games, children learn the subject quickly, which they demonstrated in a theatrical event, reports Moldova 1 TV.

The children from the "Sălcioara" kindergarten in the village of Avdarma prepared a folk music evening together with the teachers.

 "We cultivate children's love for the traditions of the Moldovan and Gagauz people. These traditions are linked to each other throughout the ages, through these methods the children find it interesting, we use dancing, music, stories", says Aliona Iazadji, educator of the "Sălcioara" kindergarten.

"The children already know how to speak correctly, to say in which village they live, in which country, to say what they do every day at kindergarten. Our kindergarten uses the program developed by ANTEM. It's a great advantage for us", says Victoria Gargalîc, teacher at the "Sălcioara" kindergarten.

 The program is successfully implemented, and parents are satisfied and are proud of their children's successes.

 "My child did not speak or understand the Gagauz language, but thanks to our teachers he knows Gagauz, he also understands Romanian, he can speak, recite poems and sing";

"The study of languages is made difficult by the fact that the parents do not speak the Gagauz and Romanian languages at home. However, educators try to cope, children hear how to speak correctly, and teachers instill in them the love for language and tradition".

Almost 60 kindergartens operate in the Gagauz autonomy and Romanian and Gagauz languages are studied in all preschool institutions. The training is carried out by the National Association of European Trainers from the Republic of Moldova.
