Several ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Moldova participated in the Grape Harvest Festival in the south of the Republic of Moldova

They picked this year's fruit in the Grape Harvest Festival in the south of the country. Several ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Moldova, as well as residents of the town of Comrat, participated in the process of harvesting grapes, at one of the vineyards. After collecting the fruit, the guests were invited to crush the grapes, to see how the grape juice is obtained, reports Moldova 1.

The event was organized at one of the plantations near Comrat, and among the guests were the representatives of diplomatic missions from Latvia, Turkey, Poland or Bulgaria, who were surprised by the beauty of the traditions of the Republic of Moldova.

"We are very happy that we came here to pick grapes. This is our first visit but we believe it won't be our last. It's a very nice atmosphere", says the representative of the Polish Embassy, Jaho Jahalinski.

"It is my first experience, I enjoy being here. It's a very good atmosphere. I will also taste the wine from here".

"I went to Comrat 10 years ago and picked grapes, and now I came again. I came with my whole family. It is a very beautiful celebration".

"First of all, the grapes are stored, after which they are put in a barrel and the final product in the  barrel is a special recipe."

In the south of the country, vines are planted on 2.5 thousand hectares of land and more than 50,000 tons of grapes are produced.

"We are different, we speak several languages, but we are united by the fact that we love our country: the Republic of Moldova. Today's holiday is awaited by every resident, and in September every family prepares for grape picking", said the head of the Gagauz Autonomous Region, Irina Vlah.

"It is a very beautiful tradition that every year we have guests from different countries to harvest the grapes. This process is a very beautiful tradition", says the mayor of Comrat, Serghei Anastasov.

The grape harvest festival of the Gagauzia Autonomous Territorial Unit has been organized for several years to promote the wine sector in the region.
